Skill Points

What are skill points (SP)?
Skill points are points that determines a character's abilities in the different types of shinobi abilities. Skill points are rewarded when training, and performing missions. Sometimes skill points are rewarded during special events.

Why are skill points useful?
Skill points are useful because they can help advance a shinobi and allow them to use techniques that others may not be able to use. It also establishes their skills and rank amongst their peers.

What are Attributes?
Attributes are the base stats of your character! These attributes are then effected by the path you take! For example someone who goes into to Taijutsu will get a bonus to strength, agility, and speed.

Upon creation, each character gains a starting amount of Skill Points to use. Skill points are applied to fields of study.

Starting Skill Points:

Genin: 10
Chūnin: 20
Special Jounin: 25
Jounin: 30
Kage/Sannin: 40

[Note]When you rank up your skill rank (D to C, C to B, etc) you gain 12 Skill points!

Those skill points, when applied to skills, will then determine the type of techniques you can use of that category. Here is where it may get a bit tricky, but overall easy to follow if you read through it correctly.

At each stage in learning a tech you gain more prowess and speed! There are 4 stages for each skill.

Ninjutsu

Stage 0 ( 0 )
No Skill: Full Chakra Cost!
Stage 1 ( 1-4 )
Student: Pay only 80% of the Chakra cost!
Stage 2 ( 5-8 )
Intermediate: Pay only 60% of the Chakra cost!
Stage 3 ( 9-12 )
Journeyman: Pay only 40% of the Chakra cost!
Stage 4 ( 13-15 )
Master: Pay only 25% of the Chakra cost!

Taijutsu

Stage 0 ( 0 )
No Skill: Full Chakra Cost!
Stage 1 ( 1-4 )
Student: Pay only 80% of the Chakra cost!
Stage 2 ( 5-8 )
Intermediate: Pay only 60% of the Chakra cost!
Stage 3 ( 9-12 )
Journeyman: Pay only 40% of the Chakra cost!

These skills, as you have probably already observed, have markers next to them out of 15. This indicates, depending on the amount of skill points you have on an skill, the rank of technique you can use. If you meet the required number in skill points for that category of jutsu, your character may learn and use a technique of that rank (or below of course).
